The Security function defines what a User ID can see and do. What a User ID can see and do falls into three categories:
When you access the Security function, the views display information about the User IDs that you have the authority to see. Each view shows the specifics about a User ID's access. You also can select to add a new User ID.

The Security Detail screen contains the specific access information about a User ID. To access the Security Detail screen, click a highlighted User ID from any view.

The Security Detail screen is divided into four sections or quadrants. The top left section contains information about the User ID. Here, you can change all of the fields except the User ID itself. Once a User ID is created, you can only delete it.
The top right section is where the data access is established for the User ID. Once the data access is established, that User ID can never change itself to another level. However, any other User ID at that level can lower the data access of another User ID, if they have access to Security.
If you do not want a User ID to have the authority to add new User IDs or change/delete existing User IDs then do not grant that User ID access to Security when you create it.
In the the lower left section of the screen, you establish function access by checking the appropriate boxes. Function access can be changed by any User ID with access to Security. A User ID can even grant itself access to a function if that User ID has access to Security.
The lower right section of the screen controls a User ID's access to specific reports. Check a box to access the report. Uncheck the box to deny access to a report. A User ID can change its own access to reports if it has access to Security.
The following is an example of a Security Detail screen.
